The girls having a tea party |
Lauren driving her "car" |
From the mouth of Lauren:
On Sunday Lauren slipped on my church shoes and said "Look Mommy, I disguised myself to look just like you!" It was a very clever and convincing disguise, especially when she added my sweater.
The other day we were playing with blocks and Lauren was sitting in the big box and saying it was her car. Then she said that she couldn't find her GPS. So I made her a little square out of blocks and told her it was her GPS. She was not impressed because a) she couldn't see a picture of her driving and b) she couldn't make it stick to her car. Good grief.
Rachel is getting more silly and mischievousness all the time. Often when she and Lauren are doing something they shouldn't be Rachel was the instigator and Lauren just provided the height and encouraging laughter. Rachel also loves to follow Lauren around and enjoys pushing her buttons from time to time.

Rachel's Throne |
From the mouth of Rachel:
This is who greeted me in the bathroom. |
Rachel really enjoys singing and being sung to. It is one of those things that is almost (nothing is ever certain and things can change at any moment) guaranteed to calm her down. Her favorite song to sing is Twinkle Little Star. I love the way she sings it: "Tinkle, tinkle how I wa wa...." and that's all she knows. She calls all stars that she sees "tinkle."
Rachel is quite the chatter. She's at the age where she repeats whatever she hears. Her favorite phrases much to my dismay are "No Way!" and "Stop It!" Which she likes to shout at Lauren at the most opportune times, like church. And Lauren's response is either to shout back at her or burst into tears.
Both girls love to watch Daddy play Zelda. Lauren constantly asks questions about what he is doing and has learned many new words, like Deku scrub (I'm not sure what that is but Ryan knows). She also taught Rachel to say Epona. Almost every morning they play "magical swords" (which I think is a mix of Zelda and Sleeping Beauty because they are usually fighting dragons) and often their "magical swords" change into a flute and they play a little song.
Both girls are also very excited for their new sibling to come in February. :)
Congratulations Woolseys! That is such great news!
ReplyDeleteI also loved the update on the girls (and am kind of relieved to know that while Rachel is interested in the potty, she's not trained - because Lydia and I are in the middle of that).
That is great! Congratulations! Those girls are so sweet, they will love having a little brother or sister. I hope you guys are enjoying California. You are getting to one of the nicest times of the year in that area. We are really excited for you guys though, I'm curious to see what you will have!
