I thought for sure that this year was going to be a dress up like a princess or ballerina year. Every time I asked Lauren what she wanted to dress up as she could never decide, until one day we read a book where the bear in the story made a dinosaur costume for Halloween. I told Lauren that we had a dinosaur costume she could try on if she wanted to and since then there was no looking back, it was dinosaur all the way; and of course she decided that Rachel should be one too. We only had one costume so I had to do my best at copying it in a smaller size for Rachel. I think it turned out pretty good, so good in fact that Lauren thought I should make one for me and Ryan. I am not so sure I dinosaur costume in adult size would have been as forgiving and Rachel's was so I did not attempt it. Ryan and I decided to be lame and not dress up, which is what usually happens because I am not good at coming up for something for us at the last minute, maybe next year. Lauren also asked me what the baby was going to dress up as and I told her the baby was not ready for trick-or-treating, she can be a dinosaur in my tummy and get her candy second hand.

Those are freaking adorable. I think it's awesome that your 3-year-old girl wanted to be a dinosaur instead of a princess. Go Lauren! And Rachel. Cute kids all around.
ReplyDeleteThree-year-olds are a controlling bunch! I know what you are going through! But your girls are adorable so that makes it easy, I'm sure. :)
ReplyDeleteThose are awesome costumes. Kailyn did one for her boy, but she bought a hoodie and made all the spikes and sewed them on, and then made a stuffed tail with a little velcro belt. She made one for herself also. You're so stinking inventive. I'm impressed with your mad skills.
